Dana Burton

Dana graduated from Southeast Community College with an associate’s degree in accounting. Before joining the office in 2013, Dana was the office manager and paralegal for the law firm of Bennett, Hendrix & Moylan, LLP in Topeka for 13 years. Before working in the legal field, she worked for 11 years in banking and finance in Topeka and Orlando, Florida.

As CJA Administrator, Dana trains and updates CJA panel attorneys and their staff regarding the eVoucher payment system. She also helps panel attorneys and their staff with funding requests and completing their vouchers, and assists attorneys, experts, and judges with the CJA electronic billing system. Dana works with the CJA Resource Counsel and assists in lining up counsel for newly arrested clients to ensure they are represented at their initial appearance in court. In addition to her work as CJA Administrator, Dana assists with our paralegal training and Second Chair program.

When she is not at work, Dana coaches her daughter’s cheer and track team with the Topeka Junior Blues Special Olympics Team. Dana is married with two adult children. Her family enjoys attending concerts and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas Jayhawks.
